Your a science experiment gone horribly wrong and you have escaped the lab you were made in! All you can do now is escape from the science facility to freedom. But how do you do it?

You ‘splode of course! BOOM!!

I can’t remember the last time I wrote a game demo or game trial write up. But now I’m getting back into the demo writing business of things. A great way to start is to talk about twisted pixle’s latest creation. ‘Splosion man!

The creators of maw again have come up with what looks to be a great game. A simple slide scrolling platform with two commands. Move with the analogue stick and explode using any of the four face buttons. Exploding or sploding as its commonly known in the game, sploding can make you jump and kill things. Weather your killing a scientist or a robot you are safe in the knowledge ha you can splode a maximum of three times in a row until you have to wait a second for your splosions to come back.

Sounds pretty simple, and it is. This is what brings out the beauty in ‘splosion man. The difficulty does not come with the control system but with the level design. Requiring you to think your next move. Many a time I’ve tried to spam splode to get me out of a sticky situation and have failed.

Graphically this game is up to twisted pixles high standard. Like the maw the  use of bright colours an cartoony design are a pleasure to look at. And of course the main character makes stupid noses and doesn’t speak a word of English, which looks like a twisted pixel trait.

So with simplistic controls but cleverly designed levels ‘splosion man is definitely one to try out if your keen on platform games. Also it has a free premium theme, gamer picture and avatar accessories (when the dashboard update arrives this summer). Check it out!
