In recent years when I have looked at games, I have been looking mainly at the releases of the next installment of the series. Take Devil May Cry for instance, when word of DMC 4 was out I was set to explode, seeing as by that time I had a platform play it on.
These days there is not that much new out there that excites me as much as a next release. Ok I admit it, WET, AvP and Bayonetta look mighty interesting, but Guitar Hero 5, Halo 3: ODST, Fable III and Castevania: Lords Of Shadow do look awesome.
So what about the game series that have died out? There has got to be some sort of revival at some point. So today I am going to give you my top 5 games that should have sequels or revives again in to particular order, because that would just be mean.
Streets Of Rage.

This game should be brought back form the dead. Why? Nt because it was one of my childhood games, because in my opinion, it has great potential for a 3rd person action game. Think about it right, you have games that are already out there like DMC which fucus heavily on weapon combat. You have games coming out such as Spyborgs, which focus heavily on just beating the seven shades of crap out of enemies with no weapons at all. So this gae can be done and people probably won’t shy away from it. Set in a film noir esq urban back street setting where street crime has gone haywire. For this generation it would be a great game and would attract a pretty big fan base.
Carmageddon

When it comes to games the more carnage the better for me. So back in 1997 when I played Carmageddon, I never though a racing game could be so brilliant. So imagine this now, the world that is set in the not to far distant future, the population has gone way over the limit, so what you do is start a racing franchise which is so controversial that you either are in love with it, or want to get it banned.
The Idea of the original Carmageddon was to simply race against your opponents, however you were on a timer which constantly depleted. But you could gain time by collecting bonuses, damaging opponents cars or running over pedestrians. If you put this idea forward for a racing game for this generation. Although controversial, you would defiantly get a fan base, because there are those people out there who love a bit of senseless violence.
Devil May Cry 5

No doubt that this will happen one day, but just to see the mention of the next installment of the series would sent me just a tad crazy wanting to play it. For me Devil May Cry 4 left so many questions a the end of it, that it would be stupid not to.
For example you have the new character Nero, he becomes uber powered when he touches the sword of a deceased half demon by the name of Vergil. Tis then awakens a huge power within him, and when he is at full power a spirit appears and helps him out. Weather this spirit is possessing him when he is in the power crazed state, to this day I am not to sure.
So that’s the big question on people lips. Is Nero being possessed by Vergil? Other questions that spring to mind are: Is Nero now going to be the new Dante? Are Dante and Nero gonna team up for some awesome co-op action in DMC 5, and who is Trish going to dress up as next?
Marvel Vs Capom 3

Having recently bought Marvel Vs Capcom 2, I have fallen in with love it, the very idea of combining comic book characters with the Capcom series is just genius. So why have a 3rd game? For me it’s about the characters. Marvel Vs Capcom 2, had a massive 56 characters, 28 for Capcom and 28 for Marvel. If they did 3 they can easily take that number up even further.
Characters I want to see if Marvel Vs Capcom 3 was made:
Dante, Vergil and Nero for Capcom. Swords plus guns and some over powered demon moves would not go a miss at all in the game.
Green Goblin for Marvel: Just the idea of grenades, flying blade things and the manic Green Goblin was missed in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 in my opinion
Leon S Kennedy and Nemesis for Capcom: They only had one Resident Evil character on MvC2 so the addition of Leon, (who would have a lot of brute strength and guns) and Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 (with zombie evil power and beyond) wouldn’t go a miss at all I think.
Sandman for Marvel: Huge waves of sand that can engulf all that stand in its way. Can’t go wrong with that at all I dont think.
System Shock 3

I know we all have Bioshock 2 to look forward too but imagine this for a second. Your stuck in space and your crew on your space station are dead. You have no idea what has done this, so there is nothing but you and the stations AI who goes by te name of SHODAN. You come to realize she is the key reason everyone is dead and has been manipulating you all this time. Bioshock did it well with Fontain, but th very idea of an AI gone mad, for me that’s on a completely different level.
“Look at you, hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?”
If that doesn’t send shivers down your spine, nothing will.
So for me if these games had a revive, or the sequel was announced I would be a very happy and probably poor gamer. If you had the choice, what sequels would you want to see?
