While I am on the subject of Dante’s Inferno, I gave the demo a whirl to see if the game had any more surprises for me. As you all probably know I had a hands on preview with the game at Eurogamer ’09. So when I came to download the demo off XBox LIVE. I was pretty much expecting the same demo I played at Eurogamer. Oh how wrong I was. This demo showed me the very start of the [...]

Garvaos here taking a break from all the christmas festivities to give you a little news update to whet your appetite. Now we all know hyped games get huge special editions. I mean, with my christmas money I have just bagged me the ultimate climax version of Bayonetta. But as special editions go they can go either one of two ways: One, We have the Modern warfare 2 way, which consists of so many special editions that you are too [...]

Last night saw the release of the long-awaited Water feature in LittleBigPlanet, in the shape of the Pirates of the Caribbean level pack. As with the Metal Gear Solid level pack (which contained the Paintinator gun tool), it introduces a brand new gameplay element in the form of a brand-themed DLC level set. I downloaded it, equipped my best piratey gear and dove in. The levels are very loosely based on the popular Disney movies, revolving mainly around having to find a legendary ship which can [...]

The past couple of weeks I have been playing a couple of games that quite frankly I have loved because of the gameplay. Two games that automatically spring to mind are DJ Hero and Bayonetta. Both of these games hit the mark when it comes to core gameplay in my opinion, with DJ Hero bringing something new and unique to a very popular genre and Bayonetta which nails all the game play elements of the 3rd person hack and slash game [...]

Heres the video of me playing it, you probably want to watch that first to know what the hell I’m talking about. For the past year independent gamers having been welding their ambitious programing/ developing ‘talent’ upon the gamers of Xbox Live with varying degrees of awesome. Theres the ones that really try for something original and fun like ‘Kudo game lab’. Theres the novelty cash in games like ‘pumpkin carver’ released during the Halloween season. And then theres the [...]

When you think of gaming action heroes, who comes into your mind? Sam Fisher? Dante? Nathan “Nate” Drake? Kratos? For me, there’s only one hero who sums up an all American bad-ass action hero: Snake. Love him or hate him, Snake is a well established and respected figure in gaming, despite the twisting, turning, near incomprehensible storyline around him. But seeing as the next big game in the series is set around the character of Raiden, a guy I could [...]

Recently I did a post on how arcades are a dying breed, and have been for about the last decade or so. One of the reasons I gave for this statement was this generation of home consoles, have finally caught up with their arcade counterparts and are now beating them down to the ground as we speak. Earlier in the year, my family turned to what some Xbox fanboys might call ‘the dark side’ and got a PlayStation 3. Now my mum [...]

As a gamer, I have often found myself frequenting various forums and game websites, loving to spend time talking to people and share my interests – in fact that’s how I first met Garvaos so many years ago. More recently there is one forum in particular I reside, where a fairly small group of kind gamers have come together to talk about their own lives and experiences. Because of this, I find that although having friends you know in person [...]

It’s funny how the internet is pretty much a needed necessity these days. Almost anything you need is on the internet. Shopping, Banking, friends, hell if they came up with some way of creating an internet version of the toilet and a well stocked fridge, most gamers these days won’t need to leave their rooms. This week for me has been internet-less, and will be for a little while. Real life has decided to kick in and I have been moving into a [...]
