The Next Level In Gaming

As it stands, I’m a massive Nintendo fiend. My gaming history started at the age of 5 with a Game Boy, and has since moved onto the Game Boy Colour, Advance, DS, N64 and Wii though not necessarily in that order. While everyone was playing the Playstation, I was content with my N64, and while I admit I missed out on the Gamecube for the Playstation (& Playstation 2), I always heavily anticipated the then-Nintendo Revolution. Fans of other consoles [...]

The very idea of downloading some of the best games that retro has to offer on your Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and the Wii store has to be one of the most genius ideas that has come out of online gaming in a fair while. Sony’s own God of War was one of the PS2′s final great titles, God of War II in particular creating something that looked fantastic, delivering to us one of the most enjoyable (and brutal) games to date – taking the fresh concepts of the first title and simply improving upon them. I feel that the phrase ‘Final Verdict’ is very appropriate when reviewing this game, for more reasons than one. Many [...]

A few months ago I was always  in two minds about hand-held gaming. Either it was an awesome thing to do when I was board on a train and wanted to pass time, or it was something that was pretty second-rate to the console gaming I have come to love even more over the years. But ever since I have moved to London, hand-held gaming for me has taken on a different persona. I see this medium of gaming now [...]

Video games are one of the youngest forms of media – along with literature, music and film they provide a medium for expression of ideas, entertainment and an escape from the daily world that surrounds us – and, as with most forms of media, they have been treated with some criticism from some people – accused of being a bad influence on the minds of people, especially children. It’s nothing new – the world has seen times where books were [...]

When someone says Lara Croft, and gamer, film fanatic or indeed human would automatically think Tomb Raider, unless you have a slight obsession with Angelina Jolie, which is of corse understandable. Yes there is a new Lara Croft game coming out, b ut it isn’t a tomb raider title. Let me shed some [...]

(Note, all information is from tombraider9.com and is classed as unofficial at time of report) Lara Croft, THE most recognisable gaming goddess in the world, with her incredible acrobatic moves, amazing adventures and huge…personalities…I mean personality! Ok yes, she is something of a sex symbol that has degraded over time. The last 6 or 7 games have tried and failed to capture the feel of the original, perhaps because they attended to it a bit too closely in some aspects, [...]
