Yup here it is. My signed collectors edition of Fantasy 13. I got it at the end of a fantastic game launch which I covered. My friends whom weren’t in the queue actually bought me the game and then handed it down to me so I could get it signed. Not only this but out of this years releases Fantasy 13 has been one of my most anticipated games to look forward to along with Alan Wake and Dead Rising [...]

The debate that has been plaguing FPS fans for what seems like centuries are First Person Shooters better on the PC or on a Console? The hardcore FPS fans out there sware by the PC, saying that using the mouse is faster and more accurate. Where console gamers like the fact that FPS games simulate shooters more by actually using your trigger finger and shooting down PC fans when they point out you can change the controller sensitivity. As for [...]

I have a…love hate relationship with RPGs. When I love them I will withdraw for days and never let go of them. If I hate them, I will try my hardest to beat them out of a twisted sense of spite. Then I sell it or give it away and try to forget it. The final fantasy series is perhaps teh best example of this: I Loved FFVII, I hated VIII, I Loved FFIX (the only one I completed), I [...]

First off, if you haven’t read it already – check out my earlier 16th hour opinion article if you want to read a little more detail into the game’s battle system. I’ll cover it to an extent here – but no sense repeating myself entirely! A huge FF fan, I’ve played most of them and completed many – each game offering a whole new world to explore with its own cast of characters – naturally things have progressed as time [...]

The rain beat down on the corrugated iron roof as the firs sizzled and spat as the occasional drop came through. It was cold; I could feel the wind blowing at the tattered remains of my sleeping bag and the snoozing of my compatriot across the shed from me. The door clacked on its weak hinges with a rusty metallic sound. I sighed, it was getting on for 3am, time to get some kip, Alexei would wake if something came [...]

Complete review Before the review an apology. I love Bioshock. Forgive my reminiscences but I feel compelled to tell you that when descending into rapture for the first time in Bioshock 1 I was completely unprepared for what I was to find. I expected gore, I expected fear, however to be met by the scene of a splicer being brutally drilled through the stomach left me feeling three distinct emotions. Firstly fear at the thought that at some time in [...]

April fools day, the day where from the stroke of 1am till 12pm pranks, jokes and fibs are told. It is a yearly tradition much like Christmas, Easter, Halloween and indeed E3. Across the interweb we were subjected to spoof trailers/news/blogs. Some pretty believable, others just blatantly made up but still some quite amusing. Here at Plus XP there was of corse no exception as we did our first April Fools with the Super Street Fighter IV announcement of Alex [...]

The wild west has had relatively few games out when compared to the more popular genres of pirates, world war 2 and anything involving aliens, and there a good reason for this: It’s hard to do a decent Western in videogame form. At best you’re going to get an average to mediocre FPS with a few plat forming and exploring bits in it, such as Call of Juarez, though to be fair; COJ is a pretty decent game. But on [...]
