I have been a massive fan of comic books ever sence I layed my hands on my very own copy of the collector’s edition of Spawn Creation. Ok so I was a late comic book reader, kind of favouring the graphic novel side of things more than the marvel comic books. But then I got into Manga and that kind of changed. If you walk into my flat you will see half a shelf engulfed with manga books and graphic [...]
I can have quite high expectations when it comes to games, and Sandbox titles are one of the genres which I find hardest to be satisfied with. While most of my favourite elements within them have been done before, I often find that most sandbox titles will contain some of the elements that I enjoy, yet fail to meet my expectations elsewhere. Perhaps this is simply a matter of developers allocating their priorities to one area over another, or maybe they just think [...]
As I was doing my day-to-day scanning of the internet. I found out that some of the Halo Reach achievements have been announced officially by Bungie. I also noticed that these were announced a while ago *facepalm* but never the less I will endeavor to go through what has been announced. Note: If you don’t want to feast your eyes on the Halo Reach Achievements, I suggest you take a look at the other posts on the site to take [...]
Back at Gamescom last year I remember looking at some of the press conferences and thinking that there will be some good games on the horizon. What did take me by surprise though was Peter Molyneux’s appearance and the announcement of Fable III. While I was pretty damn excited about this announcements, I couldn’t help but here alarm bells going off in my head. I was still happily playing through Fable II. Granted it might have been my 3rd time through the [...]
With long running game series, you are going to get your fair share of characters. Some fan favorites that keep coming back every game and quite frankly, wouldn’t be the same game without them. Others who are so rubbish and you are grateful that they have died in the story line and will never ever come back again.
Often when playing a game you’ll find that you’ve played something in a similar vein – while the actual engine, plot and characters may change the general ideas are the same – be it a hack n slash, a racing game or a shooter. However, once in a while a developer – in this case 505 Games – tries to create something unique that hasn’t been done so many times before. Obviously this can be a risk – as you [...]
Mini Demo Reviews The long hot summer is officially here and aside from E3 not a lot has been catching my attention recently. Perhaps the lack of exciting new games is a ploy by the ice-cream men to make us all go outside and see some real sunlight. Or maybe all of the developers just thought “Sod it, its too hot! Lets go to a water park…” and have left their respective offices in search of summer merriment. I suppose [...]
Ok if you have been keeping up with Plus XP you will know full well now that I absolutely love everything Halo. I have been a fan of this game since its first game back in on the original Xbox, or X Brick as I liked to call it back then. My first taste of Halo came about when I was round my mates house playing multiplayer split screen. We were playing split screen death match and we chose a [...]
As everyone who reads PlusXP should now be aware, I’m a massive point and click fan, and I truly love Telltale Games. I’ve also been reviewing the new season of Sam and Max, subtitled “The Devil’s Playhouse” episode by episode. This time, we’re continuing from the stellar “Tomb of Sammun-Mak” with the promising “They Stole Max’s Brain!”
