The Next Level In Gaming

New Artwork Revealed

Today US publication Game Informer has reviled three beautifully illustrated covers for its upcoming October issue giving us their view of the upcoming Bioshock infinite game. Created by Artist Rob Waters (Irrational) I think it is safe to assume that these covers are extremely relevant and may just offer another rare glimpse of what we can look forward to in the next Bioshock game.

Highly detailed and illustrative these examples of forgotten advertising hint at many aspects of life in Columbia. Though still only teasers these illustrations tell us much about what we can expect from Columbia from the powers we are to encounter to possible strange alternative transport around the city. Most exiting of all perhaps these Illustrations give us our first full look at the new Big daddy-esque character we caught only a glimpse of in the first teaser trailer. More human than any before this creature seems to have the same theme of retro invention which we have seen running through many aspects of the game. I am also intrigued by the “Murder of Crows Vigor” perhaps the first offering of unnatural power? Unlike previous Infinite imagery I find these Illustrations much darker and more sinister than the teaser trailer. Like so many other things in the Bioshock world I find these images both haunting and intriguing. It is a welcome feeling.

A final point of interest from these covers. In the final cover what is the large metallic creature in the sky? What is this creature? Why is it there? Why is the lady in white reaching out to it? Was the city created for it or did it create the city? I suppose we will have to wait to find out.

In addition to the front covers some new screenshots of Columbia have also been reviled. These simply add depth to the above, so I will not bore you with more talking.

Well done Game Informer. I would love to see what else the October Issue has to offer.

The hand of the large creature on the last illustration looks a lot like the one that drags the woman back into the tower in the trailer. I wonder if that’s the same woman and creature from the artwork..
