Who Are We?
We are the gamers out there who love talking about games, but we don’t really like the sounds of our own voices so we write about them instead. We are those guys on your Xbox Live Friends list or one of your PlayStation Network contacts who are always up for a game of something. We play games for the fun of it, and don’t plan to stop gaming any time soon.
We love to write about games, and we love for you to read about them. So if you have any opinions or just wanna chat drop us an e-mail at theteam@plusxp.com, or if you want to contact a staff member in particular you can scroll down to find their E-Mail.
You can even follow us on Twitter or head on over to Facebook and check out our Facebook Page.
So who are the Plus XP team?
I look back at what gaming has done for me over the years and I can safely say that, for me, gaming is a part of everyday life, and has been for the best part of 15 years or so. I have played them all, Mega Drive and PC games right through to the Xbox 360 we know and love today.
I am a keen First Person Shooter player, its what I mainly grew up with. But I do love to get into a great 3rd person action like Devil May Cry, or just wreak havoc in an open world, like Liberty City for instance.
Writing about games for me is like that addiction you get to, when you have played a game and cannot stop playing because it’s that damn good. So I am happy to be here doing this.

I’m a huge fan of gaming, having lived and breathed games since I was a child. Over the years I’ve amassed a wide taste in games and experienced some real works of art, and complete trainwrecks. I own a PS3, Xbox 360 and a Wii, as well as the latest major handhelds – I always try to be up to date with the latest consoles.
I like to review games that are both new and old – I dont like to see old games going forgotten when they’re still good! I’m a big fan of Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania. Generally my favourite genre’s are third-person action titles, fighting games and RPG’s - I grew up with platformers like Sonic, but they don’t make ‘em like they used to!
I must admit I have a soft spot for Capcom as a developer – releasing a myriad of amazing AAA titles including Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Lost Planet, Street Fighter, God Hand and Okami. While I judge all games on both their good and bad points (such as Capcom’s recent tendancy to release a lot of DLC that could arguably have been included in the initial product), I find that I can always expect a solid gaming experience from them. Square-Enix have also spoiled me with the likes of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts – although I have found that I tend to judge RPGs harshly in comparison to the high quality of the FF series, especially VII – X.
While I’m primarily a solo gamer (I feel stories are told better that way), one of my favourite gaming passtimes is duking it out with Garv in Street Fighter. You can be sure that every time we meet – we’ll be pitting Ryu against Bison, or Dante against Deadpool. And it never gets old.
It’s good to be here, I hope you enjoy reading my articles as much as I enjoy writing them. If I’m not writing you can bet I’ll be gaming – occasionally I get so hooked to playing I forget to write about it! But I do my best…
Leon – Leon@plusxp.com
My passion for gaming started early. Borrowing consoles and games from my older brother I would while away the hours of my childhood playing pretty much anything I could lay my hands on. Though this system of beg, borrowing and stealing games restricted my choices, it did help me to develop the varied taste in games which I still have to this day.
As a girl my favorites were Tomb Raider, GTA, Goldeneye, Spyro, Zelda, Theme Hospital and Final fantasy VII, later including an intense (and really quite sad) addiction to the KONAMI dancing stage series. I’m not sure my tastes have matured much since then, but recent favorites of mine have been Bioshock, Left for dead, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Fable, Viva Pinata, and Heavy Rain. As you have probably already guessed from the name was also a big fan of the Guitar Hero and Rockband games. Having spent most of my teenage years caught up in the music gaming revolution I played my plastic guitar until my fingers bled and was often refereed to as the one woman band of PlusXp. With music games in a state of decline I have gone back to my earlier days of gaming and will now try my hand at pretty much anything the gaming world has to offer.
In addition to my writing I am also the resident Video Editor here at PlusXp. It is my duty to capture the wide world of gaming in everlasting glorious video, and then wait as it takes hours to upload to you-tube…
and thats me!

The oldest staff member on PlusXP, I first picked up a controller in 1989. The game was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles on the NES, and I didn’t like it much… then my brother brought home Super Mario Bros 2 and a gamer was born!
I’ll play anything with a Sega logo, and have a particular softspot for the games of Sonic the Hedgehog. I’ve attended every Summer of Sonic convention to date, indeed the pic included here is of my Helen Cartwright (from N!ghts Journey of Dreams) cosplay worn at their 2011 event. I also highly rate the games of Yu Suzuki, he is a major hero of mine.
I’ve owned no less than 12 consoles to date, and have played many hundreds of titles. My favourite genres are platformers, RPGs, novelty games and racers, and its been fascinating to watch how the definition and standard of genres has evolved so much over the past 20 years, with games like Dissidea continuing to merge, meld and change the old distinctions.
Its an honour to be a member of the PlusXP team, a site which has gone from strength to strength and continues to expand and grow, much like a Katamari! I hope you will enjoy reading my articles as much as I enjoy writing them

Sometimes there is just too much info out in the gaming world for the staff to handle. So we bring in the contributors, these guys post under the account PlusXP and will give their own in site into games, do some previews, do some reviews or just talk for a bit to fill the post count. Don’t worry though the talking will be about games.
