RPG games for me are a mixed bag, there are very few I can really get into and enjoy to the full. The Fable series defiantly being one of them, Borderlands and Fallout 3, again some great RPG titles. But some of what I would say the more traditional ones I really can’t get into for some reason.Games such as most of the Final Fantasy titles for some reason I can’t really fully immerse myself into. So when I went [...]
‘MCM 2010’
When it comes down to Disney games, most of them out there are just cheap knock offs of blockbuster movies, that never really do a Disney film justice. Games like Cars, which I played as a free demo that came with my Xbox. Looked nice graphically but really didn’t have the imagination or charm that the film had. There is one exception of a Disney game that spawned straight from a film and that’s Disney’s Aladdin back on the Sega [...]
The MCM expo is fast approaching again, this weekend will see cos-players from all over the country come to the Excel center for another fun-filled weekend of anime, manga, comics and of course video games.
The first No More Heroes was a Nintendo Wii game I fell in love with. The protagonist was funny, awkward and weirdly relatable in a tale to defeat the greatest assassins in Santa Destroy in the hopes of getting laid with his beam katana that could only be charged by shaking it in a manner reminiscent of a teenager’s favourite pastime.
There are only so many ways you can make a racing game. You have the arcade racers, like Mario kart and burnout; and then you have the more ‘realistic’ titles such as Gran Truismo. Blur seems to be taking a little from both. Well, more like half Mario kart half and half GT. You have a range of popular car models with their particular strengths and weaknesses battling it out on a track, but with power ups not dissimilar to [...]
Sin and Punishment 2 is an odd one for most. A sequel to a cult game for the hardcore N64 fans that never saw release in the UK (though was recently released for the Wii’s Virtual Console), it’s suprising that Nintendo were advertising and showing this off at the Expo.
The first Super Mario Galaxy game stands as my all time favourite Wii game, and my second favourite game of all time. The game was beautiful and nearly perfect in every way. It controlled amazingly. It showed amazing creativity. It looked beautiful. It played beautifully. The story, while minimal, gave way to a much bigger understanding of everything and a touching ending if you cared to explore it and become invested in what happened. It was a well-balanced difficulty, with [...]

First impressions Well its been three days since the MCM expo now and I think its due time for my first expo related post. This years Expo was a busy one, with a truly epic turnout larger than any previous expo. With a crowd over 40,000 strong it was surprising that we were able to battle through the crowds to get our hands on what the game section had to offer, however with true drive and dedication we fought on [...]
