Final_Fantasy_XV_-_Cast

Of all the companies to unveil new info for this year’s E3, Square-Enix surprised more than any. Not because they announced anything new per se – but rather, they finally acknowledged two games that have been kept quiet for years. I certainly didn’t expect to see either – but both? I am of course talking about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Kingdom Hearts III. Here’s what we now know about these two massive titles. Final Fantasy XV Rumours were already [...]

In anticipation of the release of Bioshock Infinite, we recently attended the BAFTA Q&A session with the Creative Director at Irrational Games Ken Levine. Prior to the actual Q&A we were treated to a short presentation which focused on the creation on your companion character Elizabeth. Being the studious type I took some notes, and these scribbling are what I wish to share with you today. Lets get to know Elizabeth. As well as being integral to the story line, Elizabeth [...]

When you think of God of War, brutal combat and epic locations are usually the first things that come to mind. So you may be surprised to see that the live action trailer is something completely different. It’s live action – something that doesn’t always look good - and I love it. While many people may see the series’ decision to move to a prequel as a sign that God of War’s storyline is running short of ideas, the trailer fills me with hope [...]

Every expo the PlusXP team attends has its own set of mysteries. Along with the inevitable  collection of long awaited titles and all time classics there is always a certain number of games on the pre-show listings which no one on the team has ever heard of. Seeing as these mystery games often get overlooked in the wave of coverage to follow, this year we decided to give a few of them the coverage they deserve in the form of [...]

Since the release of both GTA IV and Read Dead Redemption sand box fans around the world have been busy exploring the vast cityscapes of Liberty city and the endless outback surrounding New Austin. It’s fair to say that Rockstar are infamously good at sand box games and once again they seem to be going above and beyond with the next instalment of the Grand Theft Auto Series, GTA V.  Since the official announcement of the game last year a [...]

Music of the Spheres is an indie game thats, quite rightfully, attracting alot of attention. Its been featured on Kotaku, indiegames.com and Polygon so far, and has been described by Eurogamer journalist Rich Stanton as “Half-toy, half-puzzle, and wholly delightful”. It is scheduled for release on the PC in February 2013. I was fortunate enough to get some hands-on time with it, thanks to developer Hamish Todd. Here are my thoughts. You traverse the levels by walking (although this is [...]

Sackboy returns in his latest portable outing...

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita was released worldwide mid-September. It is the latest entity in the wildly popular Little Big Planet series, and was developed by Double Eleven, Tarsier Studios and Sony Xdev Europe. The game took its place among its contemporaries (such as PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and Sly Cooper) as part of Sony’s exhibit on the Eurogamer showfloor. Here are my impressions. The game is played using a mixture of traditional controls, touch-screen and, in places, the Vita’s gyroscope. All [...]

Nintendo were showing off many big new future releases for their Wii U console at the Eurogamer Expo in Earl’s Court, which took place on the last weekend of September. One of the titles I managed to get to grips with was NintendoLand,  a new party game which is looking very promising indeed. Of the 5 mini-games on show,  I was fortunate enough to get to try three. As each one was quite special I decided this game deserved in [...]

Pikmin-3-Logo

After playing Rayman Legends at the Eurogamer Expo this year. I was ready for more gaming goodness from Nintendo. So explored the Nintendo Wii U stand and found Pikmin 3. The game was had the classic Pikmin style as you control Captain Ollymarr as he comes out of his spaceship to find big pieces of fruit everywhere. Using the Wii Mote and nun-chuck you move about finding your little Pikmin scattered about. You call them using your B button and [...]

For this Eurogamer article I’m bringing you coverage of Lionhead Studio’s new Kinect title ; Fable : the Journey.
