‘Rumour’

The dawn of the Playstation brought with it some epic video game franchises.  Without Sony consoles we wouldn’t have such characters as Solid Snake, Lara Croft or even Spyro The Dragon. Have you ever thought about how cool it would be to have characters like Kratos and Nathan Drake pitted against each other in a fight to the death? Or even sack boy having a brawl against Crash Bandicoot? Well soon your wishes maybe granted Title Fight appears to be [...]

Back in February last year I got a copy of Bayonetta for my birthday, I had previously had hands on previews with the game back at 2009’s Eurogamer Expo and I adored the game play, it was like playing Devil May Cry 3 for the first time, the sheer variety of weapons and moves coupled with the great visuals made for a great game. Unfortunately the story and the game’s protagonist didn’t cut the mustard with me, however I persisted [...]

If you’ve read any of my previous articles, you’ll probably know that I’m a huge fan of Devil May Cry, specifically the original Devil May Cry, and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. Sadly, in the current generation I’ve felt my hunger for Devil May Cry a little unsatisfied – while Devil May Cry 4 was enjoyable, the game really lacked replay value, and Dante got reduced to only having a few backtracking stages to play.

When a new console comes around I have two gut feelings (one more than the average human) one, ‘oh goody a new console I have to save up half a year for’ and two, ‘ok so this, this and this just came out, is having a new console a bit too soon?’. As the new Nintendo is on the console far much earlier that I expected it to be, I ask is it too soon for the next-gen? and will [...]

For a long time I have been in love with the Grand Theft Auto series, and in my opinion it is the best of the sandbox genre. Even though you are a normal human being with no super powers, crazy wall climbing or free running skills, you do have a whole city and an exceptional variety of vehicles and weapons to play with. GTA III was ahead of its time and with the addition of ‘The Lost and The Damned’ [...]

I didn’t enjoy Final Fantasy XIII – amidst the beautiful visuals, and the… erm. Well, aside from the beautiful graphics, the game left me feeling entirely underwhelmed. While previous titles in the series had kept me entertained sometimes for over 100+ hours at a time, XIII felt like an empty shell of a game. Gone were the cities, full of civilisation and places to explore, instead forcing us to shop through menus at save points while we were forced to [...]

So at CES this year we did expect a big announcement from Sony about the so-called PlayStation phone. Well sadly that never happened, so the phone is still just a rumour apparently. I was scanning Kotaku.com as you do this morning, and it appears that there has been a stupid amount of information leaked about the smart phone in China. The chinese site IT168 has spilled a bunch of info on the phones specs and capabilities meaning that if this [...]

If I had to choose any extreme sports game that I could play for the rest of my gaming life, it would have to be the snowboarding game. Back on the PS1 I grew up with the likes of Cool Boarders. The very idea of doing tricks in the snow while racing against the computer was a fantastic concept to me (bare in mind this was back before any console had on-line gaming), It meant I could gloat with awesome [...]

When it comes to FPS games 9 times out of 10 I am always going to go for the futuristic space age shooters. I have always preferred the likes of Halo, Duke 3D and even Doom to games like Medal Of Honor, Call Of Duty and indeed Wolfenstein (Even though Wolfenstein is beyond awesome). Maybe its because Sci Fi shooters give developers more of an imaginative playing field to use. If you go for a modern war FPS game, all the guns and [...]

So some of you FPS fans are probably every now and again playing the old Duke Nukem 3D, as it’s the only true first person Duke game you have.  Previously You have probably been looking at your watch sitting in a darkened corner of your room between bouts of Halo and Duke Nukem 3D staring at your time device for 13 years. Why? This is because you have been waiting for the next FPS game in the Duke Nukem franchise, [...]
