The Next Level In Gaming

This past weekend I had the opportunity to steal Leon’s PS3 for a few hours, and during that time I got to play hours or God Of War III as well as try out the new Mortal Kombat demo before the majority of Xbox 360 only gamers (such as myself) could. So, is the new MK game going to be a must-buy for any retro MK fan? Well, you’re about to find out. I don’t know about anyone else, but [...]

When I play a game, I am always up for a bit of a challenge. I look at some FPS titles and can’t help but whack the difficulty up to max and count the seconds it takes for me to get totally disemboweled by zombies or space aliens. Even though I do like the challenge I am never that great at it, Games are supposed to be fun at the end of the day, this is why I play them. [...]

Good games based on manga/anime series in my opinion are few and far between. Hell any games that are based on either a film/cartoon/pther media haven’t been a roaring success, sure there have been some ok ones, such as the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game, or The Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age. But to me games such as these haven’t been the greatest in my opinion. But I have always gone by the mentality that games shouldn’t be judged [...]

I’ll be honest – a couple of months ago, I barely knew of Scott Pilgrim. While I’d heard whispers of the book’s greatness (mainly from Garv), I’d never read them myself. However, when the movie was released last week, the gamer side of me felt obligated to go and see it, given that it was supposed to be an homage to all things gaming. Two hours later, I walked out of the cinema grinning like a chimpanzee that just spotted [...]

Castle Crashers + Streets Of Rage = A beat ‘em up to rival them all Back on the Sega Mega-Drive, one of my favorite games I would play constantly was Streets Of Rage 2. For some reason 1 and 3 didn’t compare to the second outing of thug bashing. Plus there was a kid on roller blades who I thought was awesome. So I started off playing beat ‘em ups, a side from the classic FPS games which I don’t [...]

Before I start diving head first into this rumour, I just want to say that I was a huge Tekken and Soul Calibur fan back before I religiously played Street Fighter. I loved Soul Calibur to bits and I still do.  Now that I have a love for street fighter. To hear a rumour of a Namco Vs Capcom game, has got me just a little bit excited. But to hear a rumor about 2 Namco Vs Capcom games has [...]

I have been a huge fan of beat ‘em up games. Ever since Streets Of Rage on the Sega Megadrive, I have always had a soft spot for games were you progress through the level by beating the seven shades of crazy out of your enemies with your bare fists, or whatever weapons you happen to find lying around. I am also a big fan of manga and anime. Weather it be a Death Note, Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, you name [...]

So once again somebody is picking a fight with Capcom and this time its epic. Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars was developed by Eighting and Capcom and developed for the Wii. It’s the 7th in the ’VS’ series and features characters from Capcom’s top games as well as characters from Tatsunoko’s animation studios. We are actually lucky to get this game as there were a few problems localizing the game outside Japan as developers were worried the Tatsunoko characters wouldn’t appeal to a non-Japanese audience and the rights to most of [...]
