…. But Not The End Of Halo As We Know It Bungie’s community manager Eric “urk” Osborne wrote on Bungie.net; “As we prepare to become fans of the universe our studio began creating more than ten years ago, it’s nice to know that we’ll be counted among such esteemed company. “Some might consider the upcoming transition a bittersweet occasion punctuated by a sense of loss and sadness. We feel otherwise. Halo is in great hands… yours. “Halo is yours now. [...]
Back in September 2007 avid Halo fans saw what they thought was the last outing for Master Chief. He had saved the universe from total destruction and the people of earth thought he had been killed in the process. In the last moments of Halo 3 however we saw Master Chief entering Cryonic Sleep, telling Cortana to “Wake me up, when you need me.” If Halo players were lucky enough to complete the campaign in Legendary difficulty, the scene would [...]
To put my feelings of Halo: Reach into words would probably make me sound like the biggest Halo fan boy on the planet, so I’ll just say that the game for me was the best final certain call for Bungie that the gaming universe could hope for, as FPS games go it is everything I need, well maybe besides that fact that it doesn’t have the parody humor of Timesplitters or Duke Nukem, but a game can’t have everything you [...]
So, Halo Reach is out and the gaming community is going nuts for it. It’s been getting perfect scores in plenty of places and at the time of writing, it has a 93 Metacritic rating (if you care for that sort of thing), so it’s obviously being really well received critically and it will obviously be commercially too. However, in a statement that will probably send the fanboys after me, and something that I should stress before Rob comes after [...]
Halo has been the perfect franchise for me. After leaving the PC and the likes of Duke Nukem, Quake and Unreal Tournament. I thought the FPS genre was finished for me untill I laid my hands on Halo: Combat Evolved for the original X Box. I got an X Box for that game and I have never regretted it. It’s in-depth story about the war against the Covenant and indeed the whole story behind the Halo rings themselves did hook [...]
Ok so these past few weeks have been Halo: Reach crazy, and to be honest it is totally understandable seeing as this is going to be Bungie’s last outing for the Halo Franchise. Bungie have always said they wanted to leave the Halo franchise with a bang, and what I have heard thus far, they are right on schedule. With things like Forge World and pretty much a play upgrade from several new features, Bungie are defiantly going all out [...]
As I was doing my day-to-day scanning of the internet. I found out that some of the Halo Reach achievements have been announced officially by Bungie. I also noticed that these were announced a while ago *facepalm* but never the less I will endeavor to go through what has been announced. Note: If you don’t want to feast your eyes on the Halo Reach Achievements, I suggest you take a look at the other posts on the site to take [...]
It has been month or two since Halo ODST, many of us gamers have now beaten the campaign and have played Firefight till our eyes and thumbs bleed. So now we have played ODST half to death where do we go from here? Do we go back to Halo 3 Multiplayer and spend hours on playing match after match of Big Team slayer (or whatever takes your fancy). We could do that, or wait for the supposed last title in [...]
I have been a bit deprived of Xbox LIVE recently. This week saw me once again logging onto LIVE to see what things I have missed. So after downloading several gigs worth of demos onto my hard drive, I came across Halo Waypoint. Now me being the journalist I am, I personally have not heard much about this new addition to LIVE. Which is quite surprising really, seeing as I live and breath all things Halo pretty much. You could [...]
