E3 kicked off today with the first of this years majour Press conferences. Microsoft took the stage with some key announcements that could get even the most hardcore of gamers jumping out of their seats. So without further a-do, here is the lowdown:
Preparing for the Bikini Summer The key topic of conversation in the office this week has been fitness. I don’t know whether it’s the puzzling tendency for otherwise non-religious girls to give up chocolate for lent, or the recent spell of hot weather reminding us of the imminent approach of beach season but becoming tanned, buff and bikini ready is now officially the order of the day. There is no denying that I am unashamedly impressionable and I have never [...]
So we’re approaching the end of the first month of 2011, and in the grand tradition of each year feeling identical to the last (what with months being a concept of time and all that) January still feels as cold and miserable as December 2010. But that’s not really important, what’s important is what this year could bring us in the world of videogames. This could potentially be one of the more important years in gaming for a while. In [...]
Back when the new dashboard up date was released a few month ago, you probably may have noticed that your Avatar was extruded slightly, or in layman’s terms the bugger got taller and lankier. The reason for this was so that your avatar could respond better to you moves on Kinect, making the avatar’s more humanly proportioned it means they can basically copy your moves a hell of a lot easier.
Last night saw possibly one of the biggest launch events for a game/console/peripheral in new york. Times square was littered with dancing people for the launch event for Kinect. Originally labeled project Natal back at E3 in 2009. The idea behind Kinect is controller-less gaming, meaning you can play games just with your body. With the Tag line you are the controller it sounds like it should be a revolution for the 360.
Ever since the release of the Wii, the gaming market has seen a radicle change. People who didn’t really have any inclination to play video games (I.E grandparents, old people, boring mum and dad folk) had the sudden urge to pick up a Wii-mote or the Wii balance board and start playing video games. Games such as Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit and Family Game Night were being played in homes all over the world. Then with the introduction to [...]
If you cast your mind back to last year, and how much I was impressed by Milo, the annoying CGI child that Microsoft and Lion Head showed off when Natal was announced, you may remember me being pretty excited about that particular game/piece of software.
The name project Natal has been floating round the gaming universe for some time now. Back at E3 last year Project Natal was shown as the Xbox 360′s new 3D camera which would take gaming to a whole new level. A bit like the Wii Project Natal brought the idea o getting physical with Video games, basically jumping around the room like a look while playing your new favorite video game. But Natal was different, it didn’t require a controller [...]
