The Next Level In Gaming

Technology has grown radically over the past decade or so. Now people are revolving their lives around their phones, MP3/Music players and even their portable consoles. Technology on the move is defiantly what is in now and believe me it is going to be a fashion that isn’t going to die out any time soon. So combing music, games and phone calling into one machine is blatantly the way forward. I mean we pretty much have it now with the [...]

Two things kept me sane during the opening weeks of my first year of university. These were GTA Liberty City Stories and SSX on tour. You see during these first precious weeks of term when I should have been out exploring the various delights of student life with my fellows I found myself stricken with the dreaded freshers flu. To make things worse it was during these particular weeks the university experienced something of a spectacular snowstorm. Confined to my [...]

One of the current “rumours” going around is the PSP2. The reason I put rumours in quotation marks there was because “Something that everyone knows is going to happen and devs have got their hands on and are making games for it but we have to stupidly refer to it as a rumour because no-one has actually officially announced it” was a bit too long to repeatedly refer to and hilariously pointless to abbreviate into acronyms. So yeah, back to [...]

After the huge success of God of War III, it was said that although the latest title gave a conclusion to the storyline of the first and second games, it would not be the end of Kratos. There’s word of some free DLC adding an epilogue to the PS3 title – but while we wait for that, I have some news that’s perhaps just as good.

A few months ago I was always  in two minds about hand-held gaming. Either it was an awesome thing to do when I was board on a train and wanted to pass time, or it was something that was pretty second-rate to the console gaming I have come to love even more over the years. But ever since I have moved to London, hand-held gaming for me has taken on a different persona. I see this medium of gaming now [...]

The PSP has a few odd games amongst it’s minature versions of Playstation home console titles and ports of older games – Half-Minute Hero being one of them, produced by Rising Star games. A demo is available on the PlayStation Network, and I urge you to try it yourself. But to give you an idea of what it entails, read my half-minute review instead. The game is a sort of tongue-in-cheek mini take on the classic RPG, such as the original [...]

When you think of gaming action heroes, who comes into your mind? Sam Fisher? Dante? Nathan “Nate” Drake? Kratos? For me, there’s only one hero who sums up an all American bad-ass action hero: Snake. Love him or hate him, Snake is a well established and respected figure in gaming, despite the twisting, turning, near incomprehensible storyline around him. But seeing as the next big game in the series is set around the character of Raiden, a guy I could [...]

Garvaos here, reporting live from Eurogamer 2009! After squeezing through the masses of gamers to try and get my pesky mitts on any game I could find. I took time out in the PSP Go lounge, where I found a demo of LittleBigPlanet PSP. Now, I am quite new to the whole LittleBigPlanet experience, I mean I only got the game just under a month a go, and I fell in love with it. Having a go on the PSP game which [...]

Gran Turismo…now there’s a game I haven’t played in a long time.  The last time I had the joy of playing it was back in 2002 round my next door neighbour’s. It wasn’t my first racing game (Mario kart 64, a game that will live in infamy!) but it was the first one that really grabbed my attention and said “Look at me; I’m a beautiful sexy racing game! Play me big boy…you know you want to…” which is to [...]

As a big Final Fantasy fan, I’ve been keeping a close eye on Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Last Friday it was released and I went to my local GAME store and picked up my own copy – the Limited Edition at £39.99 – pricey, but I’m a collector. Before long (after having to wait for my PSP to charge and update firmware) I booted the UMD and began my journey through the world of Dissidia. You may have read my previous [...]
