I am one of the these geeks who isn’t the biggest fan of Star Wars. Sure it is an enjoyable series to watch and the concept of the light saber is damn awesome. But story wise I have defiantly seen better. As for Star Wars games there are very few good ones. Knights of the old republic I have a lot of respect for as an RPG. But one that has always stuck out from the rest was The Force Unleashed, the game where you follow Darth Vader’s secret apprentice in what is a pretty awesome 3rd person action game.

The Force Unleashed combat was nice and varied, the very idea of lifting storm troopers into the air, throwing force lightning at them and then launching them into a pack of enemies was awesome, the boss fights were nice and challenging and you really did feel like an all-powerful Jedi or Sith Lord.

Now the Force Unleashed II demo has made its way to X Box LIVE and I have really been anticipating this game. As a hack and slash fan this game has been looking quite tasty, due to the fact you can wield duel light sabers, this is what I thought lacked in the first game. Also there are a couple of new abilities to the Force Unleashed II Including the Jedi mind trick, where you hypnotize your enemies into either betraying their team mates, committing suicide or running away frightened. So the game has a lot to offer.

The Demo itself is a fantastic insight into what the Force Unleashed II has to offer, again you play as Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. But this time you are a lot more powerful, I think it safe to say that the demo gives you the chance to play a really powerful version of Starkiller, after looking at the menu and seeing most of his stats up to max, the demo itself gives you the chance to play Starkiller after you have leveled him up quite a bit, meaning the game it self will not have all the abilities you have in the demo from the get go. The Force unleashed I demo did the same and even though it is cool and all, it is a little disappointing when you come to play the full game.

The demo lets you play through a level where your basic objective is to escape Lord Vader’s cloning plant, so this is the perfect opportunity to utilise all of Starkillers new powers to attack your enemies. The dual light sabers work like a dream the amount of combos you can pull off with them is both fun to do and beautiful to watch.

One of the new features to the Force Unleashed II is the Jedi mind trick. This is a simple feature that can hypnotize your enemies away from battle. What I didn’t like about the new feature was that you can’t select what you would like your enemies to do. It just picks a mind trick at random, I can see how this is convenient in the heat of battle, but if you’re in a stealthy situation I would like to pick what I was telling my enemy to do, that said it is pretty cool seeing you enemies turn on each other, or jump off the nearest bridge.

The end of the demo saw Starkiller take out a couple of AT-ST units. This gave me the opportunity to use another new feature, the Force Rush mode. Kind of like the devil trigger you see in Devil May Cry this makes Starkiller pretty much unstoppable, his powers are upgraded 20 fold and he is invincible. it is truly a beautiful thing to use and watch. Weather it is only available in certain bits of the game or unlocked at that particular point of the game I don’t know, but if it like a true devil trigger I am all for it.

The Force Unleashed II look like a brilliant game to play, I can not wait for the full version of the game.

I am not much of a Star Wars fan. I mean I think the films are good and very watchable. But I am not going to go out of my way and wear a stormtrooper costume to work. So basically I think the films are good but nothing to get heavily obsessed over.

What I do love the concept of a Jedi. The fact that you have these telekinetic powers and an awesome laser sword really appeals to me. Now if you throw those powers into a 3rd person action/hack and slash game you’re gonna get something quite special. This is why I loved the first Force Unleashed game. It gave you all the power but at the same time left the game challenging. It was really fun to play even if it did have a hiccup here and there.

So you can probably understand my excitement when the force unleashed II was announced. To be honest I was a little confused as to how they could make a sequel with the way the first game ended but never the less they have. I have been waiting to spill some beans on this game, and now that I have the information to do so, I can safely say that this game is probably going to blow some people away. This is the first game times at least 20.

Image From IGN.com

So what does this new title have to offer? Well once again you are Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, and once again you have power beyond any basic Jedi. In the first game you had powers such as force push to launch enemies into the distance, force drip to pick up enemies and throw them wherever the hell you wanted, Force lightning to electrocute enemies and of corse your trusty light saber to sword combo the hell out of people. Of corse you could combine these powers, such as force gripping a storm trooper, throwing lightening at him then throwing him into a near by pack of storm troopers to creat a lightening grenade that took the troop of troopers out. The first game gave you a lot to play with and the second is going to give you a hell of a lot more.

For instance the second game is going to implement the Jedi mind trick. This is going to be awesome, simply because you will be able to make enemies do your bidding. Say you have a storm trooper in front of you, you can either turn him on his enemies, make him kill himself or fusing them with so much force energy that they become a bomb and will explode when put into another legion of stormtroopers. The choice is yours. Another addition to the force powers is Force Fury. Now the way I see this is I think it is some sort of Devil Trigger system, where by once activated Starkiller’s powers will be ampped 10 fold. Meaning force push will now be force explosion, while light saber attacks become huge ranged combos.

Image From IGN.com

Speaking of light sabers, this time round Starkiller will be going akimbo with his laser swords. He will be duel wielding light sabers in this game, and this puts a huge smile on my face. So I will be expecting some insane combos, but not only that, the light saber physics have been increased also. Meaning when a lighs taber goes through a stormtrooper the guy is actually gonna get cut in half this time round. But I’m afraid to say that there will be no light sabers going through ATST’s legs, because that would probably break the gameplay somewhat.

The enemies variety has been upped as well, you are gonna get a lot more larger scale enemies in this game. Whereas the first game had a lot of humanoid enemies, this game will have more variety when it comes to enemies in general. With different enemies comes different tactics, you are gonna have to use all your force powers to full effect here as some enemies will be immune so some attacks and powers, while they are weak to others. For example there will be enemies with shields, you’re going to have to use force grip to get those shields away from them before you can inflict some heavy damage.

Image From IGN.com

This time around it’s not all about action action action. This game will feature more puzzles which will in turn make you use your force powers more. So there will be a lot of variety in-game play as well as enemies and combat.

The force unleashed II looks set to become an extremely good title. If the first one was anything to go by, I am really looking forward to this. scheduled for sometime in Q4 of this year, I cannot wait.

When I first heard about the force unleashed I couldn’t help but be a little skeptical. I mean I am not a huge Star Wars fan and having a 3rd person hack and slash game in the Star Wars universe felt a little generic.

So I went and tried the demo for a laugh to see if it was any good. I was hooked, I never thought I would see the day where i would enjoy a Star Wars game as much as this one. Sure Knights Of The Old Republic is a gaming classic but to be honest I never got fully into that title *hides* But with The Force Unleashed you actually felt like a Jedi master, throwing people around at will with the force and just causing mayhem. I think I liked it because you were in fact a superhero. If your still mulling over the idea of the first game check out my review, it may sway you.

So where am I going with all of this? Another review? A DLC announcement perhaps? Well I am glad to say it is non of the above and the sequel to The Force Unleashed has been announced. It was announced last month at the Spike TV Video Game Awards that the sequel will be gracing out consoles by the back end of 2010. Yes I know, the Spike TV awards were back last month but this is still news to me.

So what will the next outing for Starkiller entail? Well as you can probably gather not much has been announced at all but it seems the story carries on from the good ending from the last game. I assume this because in the teaser trailer for the second outing. Our old buddy Starkiller is wielding two (yes two how cool is that, better be a game feature) blue light sabers. This makes a hell of a lot of sence because the Ultimate Sith Edition of the first game was released not so long ago, and showed the story of Starkiller as he became one with the dark side. So it will be very interesting to see how Starkiller develops as one of the good Jedi and also it will be very interesting to see how they pick up from where the last game left off, not wanting to spoil what happened for the people who haven’t played The Force Unleashed but wouldn’t this be a little…..impossible?

So I for one will be eagerly awaiting the next installment in the chapter of Starkiller’s story, I wander how it work within the original Star Wars trilogy time line. Sadly we are just going to have to wait till some more information arises, till then, sit back and relax as you watch this Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II teaser trailer.

Devil may cry 3 did it with the special edition having a new character for you to use with alternative costumes, a new unlockable costume for Dante, and some enemy tweaks.

Ninja Gaiden Black introduced new weapons, more cut-scenes, new enemies, new costumes and a few new cut-scenes. But then Ninja gaiden sigma was released for ps3 that added more to ninja gaiden black such as Dragon’s Claw & Tiger’s Fang dual katanas and some changes to the environments in game.

Around sepetember last year Star Wars the force unleashd was released. I did a review of the game and was pleasantly surprised by the game. But now the game is following the same suit as DMC and ninja gaiden and is releasing The ultimate sith edition.

This ultimate sith edition includes: All the downloadable content that’s out for the original game. which is: new character skins and new mission as the apprentice. But the welcome new addition to this pack is The hoth mission pack. This mission pack takes you through the story of the apprentice if he did over throw Vader and was the Emperor’s new right hand man. This will give you missions such as killing obi wan and fighting Luke skywalker.

This special edition looks immense and I cannot wait!

Ultimate Sith Edition Box Hasn't Been Shown Yet, So Here Is The Original.
